Stephen Smithson, Partner:Qualified over 25 years, Stephen is one of the senior defence solicitors in Leeds and has represented clients in over 50 different Magistrates Courts. He has extensive experience, having represented clients charged with the full range of offences from double-murder to motoring cases. Stephen has particularly specialised in rape cases, Youth Court and deals with the firm’s Anti-Social Behaviour Order cases. He became a solicitor advocate in 2005.
Philip Morris, Partner : Qualified as a solicitor in 1992 and as a Higher Court Advocate in 2001. Phil has extensive advocacy experience in both the Magistrates Court and Crown Courts and has appeared in the Court of Appeal in London. Phil has experience in dealing with not only cases involving more high profile clients, but the more serious offences including murder. At the same time Phil maintains an active interest in Road Traffic and Drink Driving Law.
Stephen Welford, Partner: A former professional boxer, Stephen qualified as a solicitor in 2000 having been commended by The Law Society for outstanding performance in his professional exams. Stephen has been with the practice from the outset and was appointed as partner in May 2006. A solicitor advocate since 2005, Stephen regularly appears in the Crown Court and has a growing reputation in the defence of clients accused of drink driving.
Hayley Cutler, Solicitor. The newest addition to the firm, Hayley joined Smithson Hinds Morris in June 2008, having qualified as a solicitor in January 2008.
